Drunk driving headlines

Alcohol-Related Fatalities Rise in Washington Area
The number of people who died in alcohol-related crashes rose more than 31 percent in the Washington area last year. That's according to a report being released by the Washington Regional Alcohol Program.

The total number of alcohol-related crashes and injuries also rose dramatically in 2006.
Maryland House Majority Leader Arrested for Drunken Driving
The majority leader of the Maryland House has been arrested and charged with driving while impaired by alcohol. Police say Kumar Barve, a Montgomery County Democrat, was arrested Thursday night in Gaithersburg.
Comment: He must belong to the "do as I say, not as I do" school of government. These hypocrites ought to be setting an example for the rest of us, not running around thumbing their noses at the law at the same time they are raising our taxes and increasingly regulating our lives.
