Peace & Blessings,
I applaud Prince George's House Delegation Chair, Melony Griffith. She has demonstrated, as she always does, that she has her hands on the pulse of her constituents and those who live, work, play, and pray in our most beloved Prince George's County. She regularly listens to the people and acts in our interests.

Peace,
Arthur Turner

Is this the same Melony Griffith who
  • Recently voted FOR SB 848, the dishonestly titled and anti-democratic bill to override the county charter and will of county voters
  • Wanted the taxpayers to provide a corporate welfare subsidy for multi-millionaire sports moguls
  • Sponsored a 2009 bill to override TRIM at the request of corrupt county executive Jack Johnson
  • Supported corporate welfare handouts to multi-millionaire film producers
  • Sponsored legislation for the state to confiscate the value of unused gift cards and certificates
  • Supported funding a luxury gym at Wise High School at a time when 62 schools needed unfunded roof repairs
  • Voted for the huge, regressive 2007 sales tax increase
  • Voted to override the county charter to impose one of the highest telephone taxes in the nation on us, justifying it as need to support the schools, and later sponsored proposed legislation to divert some of the proceeds away from the schools
  • Voted against democracy to kill our elected school board and replace with and appointed one based on politicval patronage--and the resulting appointed board hired a corrupt superintendent who is now in federal prison
I strongly disagree with your claim that "She regularly listens to the people and acts in our interests." She often seems to be acting more on behalf of those who want most of us to pay higher taxes in order to fund handouts various special interests. DO you really believe that her ongoing support for higher taxes demonstrates that "she has her hands on the pulse of her constituents?"
