Gory Prince Geroge's: Acquittal in 2004 murder on Southern Avenue

The August 24 Post reports that a Prince George's County jury has acquitted Oris V. Watts, 19, of Washington, DC, who was accused of first-degree murder and gun charges in the October 5, 2004, murder of Jonathan Foster in the 800 block of Southern Avenue, Oxon Hill (20745).

Council District 7 (Exum)
Legislative District 26 (Lawlah, Kelley, Patterson, Turner)

Commentary:

Either the Prince George's County police arrested the wrong person, or the police arrested the right person and the police and state's attorney did not convince a jury of his guilt.

Whatever the reason, our criminal justice system has once again failed the law-abiding residents of Prince George's County. The actual murderer, whether it be Watts or someone else, is somewhere out there, free to kill again.
