Several press outlets are reporting that the murder early this morning of 16 year old Frank Dawkins brought the total number of Prince George's County murders so far this year to 129. That compares to 115 at this time last year and 128 for the whole of last year.
Meanwhile, County Executive Jack B. Johnson seems to be silent on the issue. Known for putting out self-aggrandizing press releases at the drop of a hat, and for going on and on about "livable" communities, he seems to disappear whenever there is bad news about the failures of his administration to provide safe street and protrect out children from violence.
Similarly, those members of the General Assembly who so actively work to save the lives of convicted killers seem to vanish from public view and take no action when when innocents are slaughtered.
When will these politicians do something about the GORE?
