- Breaking: Dimensions confirms Laurel Hospital's downsizing to an Ambulatory Care Center. Employees and services will be cut.
- The transition will take place over the next year and a new $24 million ambulatory care center is expected by 2018.
- Laurel Hospital's been losing millions for years per Dimensions. The new center is expected to be financially stable.
- News4 was the first to report the decision, more details later today on News4 and 5 and 6.
- Hundreds of employees are expected to be downsized, some will be reassigned to other facilities.
- During the transition, Dimensions says there will be no changes to current emergency, diagnostic imaging and outpatient surgery services.
- The new center will offer emergency services and outpatient surgery and is expected to be built on the existing hospital campus.
