Prince George's County residents bear about the highest tax burden in the region (Updated)

Original posting from 25 Mar 2012, Prince George's County residents bear about the highest tax burden in the region (List of sources), follows the more recent items.  Note that some of the older links may no longer be valid because many website change links and make searching for historical data difficult to impossible.  I have been unable to find any recent mainstream media reports on relative tax burdens.

Recent media reports about plight of African-American families in Prince George's County have ignored the role that high taxes may play in contributing to their financial problems.

Likewise, media stories about the county's looming $100 million plus budget, also ignore the already high tax rates and fail to explore why crime is among the highest, and schools and services are among the poorest, despite such high taxes.
