Gambling: NOW is the time

Every Prince George's County resident is "represented" by a senator and at least one, but mostly three delegates.

If you are opposed to gambling in Prince George's County.

Or, if like me, you are appalled by the way this whole gambling thing is going down:
  • The wasteful special session called in large part because our legislators FAILED to do their job in the time allowed by the Maryland constitution.
  • The secretive backroom politics and disrespect for actual voters.
  • The virtual sole source procurement favoring one site and business over others.
  • The possible involvement of Chinese organized crime.
  • The promise-breaking by Baker and O'Malley.
  • The plan by Democrats to cut taxes for gambling moguls after raising taxes for working people.
    • And don't forget that most of them voted for both the 2007 sales tax increase and the 2012 income tax increase
  • The increased traffic with no specific plan or source of funding for related traffic infrastructure.
  • The increased need for public safety resources with no specific plan or source of funding for staffing and equipment.
  • The past lies by politicians about how much money gambling will being in.
  • The past lies by politicians who said they opposed gambling but voted for it anyway during the regular session.
  • Etc.
NOW is the time: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, to call your senator and delegates and let them know how you feel about the issues.  Call them.  Email them.  Facebook or Tweet them if you have that information. Tell them if you see them in church.

Don't put it off until it is too late.

Don't wait until they screw us again.

Contact them NOW.
