... State House shell games ...
But my favorite scam is Prince George's County's so-called "ethics" bill. Only in Prince George's can council members put an unlimited "hold" on construction projects in order to shake down developers for cash.
Yet, instead of banning this unsavory practice, the state legislature's "compromise" ethics bill merely shortens the council's "hold" period to 205 days, still plenty of time to shake down developers.
How could any "Legislative Follies" compete with these real-life shenanigans? Face it, a lawmakers' stage show making themselves look foolish would only be a redundancy.
