Mel Franklin's Reply to Questions About Recent Prince George's County News

Does Mr. Franklin support or oppose the seating of Leslie Johnson on December 6?
I oppose. As stated publicly, while Mrs. Johnson has the right to be seated, I believe, in the interest of allowing the County to move on from this embarassing scandal, that she should choose not to be seated.

A recent press report indicated that Mr. Franklin supports the selection of Andrea Harrison as chair of the county council. Is that correct?
No final decision has been made about the position of Chair of the County Council. Discussions are ongoing.

Does Mr. Franklin have a position on the retention of police chief Hylton?
No position, but I look forward to consulting with our County Executive-elect on this decision. I congratulate Chief Hylton and our hard working rank-and-file officers for the recent reductions in crime throughout Prince George's County.

Will Mr. Franklin be having a website, online newsletter or other online means of communicating her positions and actions to his constituents?
Yes, the District 9 office will have monthly e-newsletters, social media sites, a core website, and monthly District 9 Community Advisory Meetings (open to the public, in rotating locations throughout the District).
