Staff members to be replaced at three struggling schools; Teachers must be highly qualified to retain jobs.

Three Prince George's County schools will replace some staff members and implement new programs as a result of the schools' struggles on state standardized tests.

Crossland High School in Temple Hills, Gwynn Park Middle School in Brandywine and Northwestern High School in Hyattsville could replace a total of 20 teachers who are not deemed highly qualified under state standards and replace them with teachers deemed highly qualified by June 30, Superintendent William R. Hite Jr. told the state school board May 27.
