Daily "Recent Prince George's County News" updates were suspended in early March 2016. They were compiled primarily from retweets of news headlines. Those retweets continue, but in unformatted and unarchived form at PG-Politics-Briefs. To follow such headlines on a current basis, follow @pgpolitics on Twitter.

I have created a second Twitter account for "pgpolitics " (http://twitter.com/pgpolitics)
to which I will be posting short titles and links to both mailing list messages and news articles about Prince George's county politics and crime.

Twitter limits message lengths to 140 characters, so titles may be abbreviated and links will generally be in the tinyurl format.

A daily summary of the Twitter notes will be posted here (http://pgpolitics.blogspot.com ).

I will continue to use the "dcrussell " Twitter account (http://twitter.com/dcrussell ) for  links to items I write or about which I comment, as well as the source of status notes for my Facebook account (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1388018245).

This change should enable me to send out more links about county  news to interested people without filling up e-mail boxes with long messages.

  1. Happy Valentine's Day! Do you speak to small local groups about using the internet effectively? You seem to know your way around a keyboard!

  2. No, I don't speak to groups.

I'm sort of a talented amateur around a keyboard. There are several things I wish I could do, and I know can be done, but I just can't get to work correctly. One example is mapping. I tried to create homicide maps several times without much success, then gave up when Chris Nelson started doing what I could not do. And even though I've tried to figure out how he does it, I can't.
