Deliveryman Arrested in Marijuana Shipping Scheme
Comment: In my opinion, Chief High should be fired NOW, effective NOW! He and his police force are out of control.
It is unfortunate that we cannot immediately remove from office the elected officials (all Democrats) who allowed this outrage to happen and who have refused to take immediate corrective action.
It seems like every new press report contains more information about how the police storm troopers completely ignored proper procedures and Mayor Calvo's rights under the law. Why should they be able to enjoy the rights and protections of due process that they denied to their victims? They ought to be fired NOW, before they can commit more atrocities.

Prince George's police announced today that they have arrested a deliveryman and one other man they believe are involved with a scheme to smuggle 417 pounds of pounds of marijuana by shipping packages addressed to unsuspecting recipients -- including one sent last week to the wife of the mayor of Berwyn Heights.
The Prince George's Sheriff's Office SWAT team and county narcotics officers raided the home of Mayor Cheye Calvo and his wife Trinity Tomsic after intercepting a package shipped through Fed-Ex addressed to Tomsic and filled with 32 pounds of marijuana. During the raid, law enforcement officers broke down Calvo's door and shot and killed the family's two black Labrador retrievers.
Prince George's Police Chief Melvin C. High did not apologize to the Calvos or exonerate them completely in the case. However, he said police have discovered five or six other similar deliveries made in recent days to addresses where people inside had no knowledge of the delivery. He said he believed the Calvos were "likely" innocent but that police continue to investigate.
High described one of the men as an independent contractor who worked as a package deliveryman. He did not release the name of either of the men arrested.
He said police investigating the case uncovered a separate and parallel scheme to use the package delivery system to send marijuana, arresting two other men today in connection with that conspiracy and seizing an additional approximately 100 pounds of marijuana.
Calvo did not immediately return a call for comment. Timothy Maloney, an attorney for Calvo and Tomsic, said the arrests confirm that Trinity Tomsic was a "random victim of identity theft."
"This crime was compounded by law enforcement when it illegally invaded the Calvo home, tied up the mayor and his mother-in-law, and killed the family dogs," he said in an e-mail. "The Calvo family is still waiting for an explanation from law enforcement as to how this could possibly have happened, and what will be done to make sure it doesn't happen to other innocent people in the future."
