As of 8:00 this morning (August 8), Google News is showing over 625 links from around the world to print and broadcast media coverage of this debacle.

Looking at the county press release pages, there don't seem to be any explanations, rebuttals, justifications, or apologies from Sheriff Michael Jackson, Chief Melvin High, or County Executive Jack Johnson.

Those officials and their flacks must not care about the county's notorious reputation for law enforcement brutality and incompetence.
