Prince George’s residents may have higher phone bill taxes

Prince George’s County - Prince George's County taxpayers may have to pay about $25 more per year on their phone bills in fiscal year 2008.

As part of his FY 2008 budget County Executive Jack Johnson proposes increasing the county’s tax on phone service from 8 percent to 11 percent. Under the plan, the total phone tax would increase from $69 annually to approximately $94, a jump of about $2 per month, according Johnson's budget book.
