- Report: Strip clubs draw crime; Police called 647 times in six months
- Examiner, 6 Jan 2006 (by Anna Bailey, Examiner Staff Writer)
The Prince George's County Council is looking to take on strip clubs, but this time council members have a new weapon in their arsenal.
The council commissioned a study obtained by The Examiner into the county's' adult entertainment business that determined these establishments often have adverse effects on surrounding neighborhoods, particularly in the area of crime.

Councilman Samuel Dean, D-Mitchellville, said the council plans to create legislation based on the report to regulate the adult entertainment business. "We wanted to make sure we don't become the dumping ground of some of these organizations," said Dean, who was chairman last month when the council tried to ban nude dancing and the study was commissioned.
