Greenbelt (AP) - The trial of a Washington man accused of shooting and stabbing a federal informant in 2003 opened Wednesday in U.S. District Court. The case could end in the relatively rare punishment of a federal death sentence.
James Allen Irby the Third is accused of killing his friend Terrence Deadwyler on March 28th, 2003, after learning Deadwyler had told federal investigators about an illegal gun Irby possessed. Deadwyler was stabbed 130 times, shot three times and his District Heights apartment was set on fire after he was killed. [More
