Gory Prince George's: In the news elsewhere

The August 22 Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel mentions the Prince George's County murder count twice.

"Milwaukee is not alone in suffering surge in murders" is an editorial discussing increasing homicide rates in several cities.

"Numbers keep us focused on what counts," a column by Eugene Kane, includes a discussion of the value of reporting and keeping and reporting a running count of murders. He concludes with:

Other cities might have given up the box score, but Milwaukee continues to mark each new homicide added to the list. We haven't stopped counting, which means we haven't stopped caring.

Which means there may still be hope for all of us.
