Prince George's County school officials said this week there is virtually no chance the system will meet the March 31 deadline for a fiscal 2004 audit to avoid the withholding of another $10 million in state aid.Full story
The state has so far withheld $20 million in aid because the audit had been delayed four times since Sept. 30. The school board last week fired the KPMG national accounting firm for repeatedly failing to meet deadlines for the audit.
