Education: PG delegates introduce bill to increase school bureaucracy and administrative costs

HB549: Education - Public Schools - School Health Services Program Coordinator

Synopsis: Requiring each county board of education to designate a school health services program coordinator; requiring the coordinator to implement State and local health policies and carry out other specified duties; requiring the county board to grant the coordinator specified authority; and requiring the State Department of Education to conduct specified meetings.

Comment: Every year, milions and millions of dollars of our tax money go to support a huge educational bureaucracy. Neither the shcool system nor our elected official ever present any measurable evidence that the hundreds of coordinators and specialists and supporting staff actually contribute to positive educational results. Now these delegates want to divert even more money away from the real needs of the schools and our children.
