Maryland Democratic legislative leaders say they will not seek new taxes during the current General Assembly session despite a report from their fiscal adviser that the state spends more money than it collects. . . .

Meanwhile, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr., Prince George's Democrat, said he also has no plans to "broaden the sales tax or increase the income tax." . . .
