Edward's acceptance of "dirty money" from corrupt Rep. Charles Rangel.

Why Mr, Langway would so immediately dismiss the report leaves me mystified, especially since his own message, below, citing a source of which he seems to approve, lists Rep. Rangel as one of the 15 most corrupt members of Congress.

But, I guess I should not be mystified because it is so obvious that Mr. Langway wants to deflect attention away from the substance of the report by attacking the source. Perhaps it is because he is incapable of refuting the facts of the report. Or maybe he is afraid to discuss the facts rationally out of fear that they may be true. Whatever the expanation, his response to the news report does not deserve serious consideration.

Let us suppose that Mr. Langway's house is on fire with his family inside, and someone from the Examienr, or the Times, or Fox pounds on his door and warns him to get out. Will he stay and burn because the warning is by someone he considers "to be a joke and cannot be taken seriously?"

Also, it should be noted that a few weeks ago, local Democratic activist Rev. Kitchen posted at Examiner.com a long piece in his role as "Prince George's County Elections 2010 Examiner;" a message entitled "My Choice: Return Donna to Congress." Using Mr. Langway's standard, we should dismiss Rev. Kitchen's endorsement a of Rep. edwards s a joke that cannot be taken seriously.

Right?

Howard J.
